The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examinations, on Saturday, said it is planning a “Bring Your Own Device” initiative for the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations and the Direct Entry Examinations. Is this new development achievable knowing the nature of our education system?
Well, According to Oloyede, the initiative is such that it would allow candidates to take the examinations on their mobile phones. The JAMB boss noted that the board has continued to spend huge amounts of money on the conduct of examinations, hence the need for the initiative.
The examination body also revealed list of most sought-after institutions by candidates. In respect to this, The University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and the University of Lagos top the list of most sought-after universities for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations exercise. According to a presentation by the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during the 2023 policy meeting, the top 10 institutions were recognized due to the attraction of a high number of applicants during the 2023 UTME application period.

In the list, the University of llorin was first, followed by the University of Lagos in second place, Lagos State University in third place, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti in fourth place.
